Corporate branding - College throwbacks
My first logo assignments.
JAWS Fishing Tackle
We were asked to create a logo for a fictional company based on the last movie we'd watched. I'd just watched Jaws in the film analysis class and found it quite funny.. so I went with this humorous approach brand a fishing tackle shop.
Eat More Shoes
This was a live brief 'logo competition' seperate from the set assignments. We we're provided with a rough sketch of the cube concept. I created these designs using an isometric grid to keep the angles consistent. The second variation was chosen as the winner out of over 25+ entries.
New College Nottingham
The college was being rebranded at the time so we were asked to come up with our own ideas. The college has used a very simple typeface logo with a small flag graphic for many years so I wanted to keep it sleek and elegant. I attempted to capture the basic shape of the main campus building and keep it simple so that it works at all sizes for all applications.
Creative Media Arts
At the time I was studying 'Creative Media Arts' at NCN. The entire class was asked to each produce a logo because the course lacked any form of branding and new catalogues were in the process of being made. Unfortunately my design wasn't chosen but I feel it was a good effort.
Carva's Java Coffee Shop
For this one we were asked to brand ourselves as a beverage. Using a slight alteration of my surname, I created the coffee shop brand 'Carva's Java'. I attempted to subtley include the initials into the 'steam' coming from the mug. Looking back 3+ years later and I realise just how comic sans-esque Arial rounded looks.
